What is the Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship program?
The Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship program, created in 2008 by the Georgia General Asssembly, allows students to receive scholarships from non-profit organizations called student scholarship organizations (SSOs). Scholarships can then be used at a qualified, accredited Georgia private school.
SSOs fund scholarships through contributions from Georgia taxpayers. Donors to SSOs receive a dollar-for-dollar state income tax credit in return.
