Do private schools have to be accredited?
Yes. By law, schools must be accredited or in the process becoming accredited by one or the following accrediting agencies:
- The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-CASI)
- The Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC)
- The Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS)
- The Association of Christian Schools Internations (ACSI)
- The Georgia Private School Accreditation Council (GPSAC)
- The Accrediting Commission for Independent Study (ACIS)
- The Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS)
